Mile 100 baby!
Hello fine folk! I’ll keep today’s blog pretty shirt as it’s late right now on day 5! I haven’t been up past 11pm for the whole week! I woke up in my fantastic campsite, ate breakfast with a view from the bench, and then headed the last 6.6 cruisy miles down to highway 9.
Spooky
The town of Breckenridge
I’ll be going up there to the High Point of the entire trail tomorrow and Sunday!
Saw this cutie on the way down!
Breck is a really nice area, I love all the paths for people to walk around in, many many pool enjoying the outdoors this morning!
I was a little early coming down from the trail, so I decided I’d go find some food before Claire came to pick me up. As I could just see the road, I saw the free Summit Shuttle stopping and some people getting on. I raced over there are barley made it on. Minnie Mouse had just got on. She was getting off later at the Walmart in Silverthorne. I jumped off in Frisco and walked half a block to Butterhorn Bakery for some breakfast!
Claire picked me up soon after I was finished! I was so glad to see her! 🥰 I decided I’m going to stay the night here in Frisco, even though the accommodation prices are INSANE on a summer weekend! I decided I’d like to slow down for a sec and take care of my feet. They’re not bad, but I’m technically not in a rush, so why push it?!
The plan is to chill tomorrow and hit the REI, and then later in the day head up the trial a few miles when Claire takes off back to the Springs.
I’m really proud of what I’ve accomplished so far. I did 96 miles in just 4 days! On the PCT 2018 I didn’t get to mile 96 until day 7!! Now here I am at 34, 8 years later, at WAAAYY higher elevation, and I’m feeling great!
Next blog post will probably be in 5 or so days, if I can catch some WiFi in Twin Lakes! For now, I enjoy a half day off!
Thanks for reading!
You are crushing those miles! I’m impressed 😉
